Dr. Patricia Miller... continued

Patricia Miller brings a wealth of experience to The Calgary Therapy Institute.

She has completed a master’s degree in Social Work, a Master of Counselling Psychology, successfully defended her PhD. in Behavioural and Social Sciences in 2018 from Tilburg University in the Netherlands and is currently working towards finishing a clinical psychology degree (Psy. D), through Calsouthern University.

 

She is a registered Psychologist in the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia.

She is a registered clinical Social Worker in the province of Alberta.

 

She has worked in the areas of assessment and treatment of mental health including ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, bipolar disorder, and other cognitive concerns, PTSD, depression/anxiety/OCD, addictions and personality disorders for tweens/teens and adults across the lifespan.

She is an expert witness/legal consultant on emotional injury, due to traumatic experiences including sexual harassment/assault, child pornography, child abuse, and provides psychological expertise for class actions.

 

She brings 25 years of clinical practice experience in diagnosing and providing psychological care for people living with PTSD, traumatic stress, war-related trauma, sexual assaults, childhood abuse, intergenerational trauma, bullying (workplace and school), depression, anxiety, eating disorders, body dysmorphia and personality disorders. She has trained in EMDR, CBT, DBT, and Social Constructionist processes.

 

Dr. Miller is the clinical director and owner of The Calgary Therapy Institute.

She is a staff Psychologist at Fairfield Psychology in Victoria, BC.

She teaches part-time at Mount Royal University and is a community-based researcher, published author and international presenter on topics related to mental health, trauma, qualitative, community based research processes, and interpretative phenomenological analysis of sensitive-data, specific to traumatic experiences.
