Psychoeducational Assessments

Elevating Potential, Empowering Minds: Insights through Psychoeducational Assessments.

A Psycho-Educational assessment is used to identify a student’s pattern of strengths and areas of need to provide unique and individualized recommendations for educational planning and intervention. Psychoeducational testing involves understanding how the student learns, their academic achievement, and their behavioral, social, or emotional challenges. These types of assessments can be used to identify students who may have learning disabilities, or experiencing challenges related to ADHD, mood, or behavioral disorder, or to provide information related to their learning profile.

***Sliding scales will be offered on a case-by-case basis. As well, many insurance companies provide coverage for psychological services.

ADHD & Autism Assessments

Understanding Uniqueness, Embracing Strengths: ADHD & Autism Assessments for Personalized Support.

Adult and Child ADHD Assessments An ADHD assessment consists of gathering information from the client, their family and/or teachers, and comprehensive psychological testing. Treatment recommendations, including individualized supports, strategies and accommodations, are given based on the results of the assessment. ADHD assessments do not include formal testing of academic abilities. If you are looking to explore additional learning challenges, we recommended a psychoeducational assessment.

Child/ Adolescent Autism Assessments Autism assessments is a complex process and involves evaluation of a number of domains of functioning including social-emotional-behavioral functioning, adaptive functioning, and cognitive functioning. These types of assessments include a combination of clinical interviews with parents, teachers or other caregivers, standardized testing, and direct evaluation of autism-specific behaviours. Autism assessments do not include formal testing of academic abilities; however, this can be beneficial for school-aged children in understanding the child’s needs and planning for their academic future. Academic testing can be included for an additional 2hrs of one-on-one testing and 1hr of report writing.

Adult Autism Assessments Assessment for adult autism may be beneficial when an individual struggles with social interaction, has sensory sensitivities, strong patterns or interest and/or other restricted or repetitive patterns of behaviours. Results of these types of assessments can help an individual to gain self-awareness and develop supports and strategies to be as successful as possible.

***Sliding scales will be offered on a case-by-case basis. As well, many insurance companies provide coverage for psychological services.
