Kayla draws from multiple psychological theories as she works towards becoming an integrated therapist, tailoring her approach to meet each client’s unique needs. Before pursuing counselling, Kayla worked for six years as a teacher with the Calgary Board of Education and Edmonton Public School Board in both mainstream and special education classrooms. In her role as a resource and classroom teacher, she collaborated closely with students, families, and teachers to explore best practices for supporting students with complex needs. Through these experiences, Kayla developed a deep understanding of the academic, emotional, and behavioural challenges that children and teens may face. She uses this lens in her counselling and assessment work to provide goal-focused support and meaningful insights that promote client well-being and success both in and out of school.

Kayla believes that each person has the power to shape their own life story through reflection and exploration of their experiences. She is dedicated to creating a warm, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported in their personal growth and development.
