Ciara has worked in a variety of settings including public schools, private health clinics, and non-profit agencies providing counselling services, advocacy, and support to children, adolescents, and adults, helping them navigate challenges. Her experience in mental health focuses on providing intervention to those with anxiety and rumination, depression, stress, childhood trauma, life transitions, self-esteem, anger, maintaining work-life balance, and more.

Ciara’s practice is welcoming and meets you where you’re at. Her focus is working collaboratively in a non-judgemental and accepting space to help you move through difficult experiences, thoughts, and feelings in a supportive way. Ciara can help you identify and build upon your strengths based on your values, empowering you to have confidence in your ability to cope with challenges while honouring your identity.

 

Ciara draws from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy (SFT), attachment theory, and mindfulness, compassion-based exercises. Ciara works with you as part of your team, exploring what has brought you in and deciding together the most beneficial ways to help you move forward. Her background includes supporting individuals with their mental health who also have ADHD, FASD, ODD, ASD, CP, Type 1 diabetes, addictions, learning disabilities, and more.

 

Ciara was born and raised in Calgary and moved to Vancouver island for a few years to be close to family during the pandemic before returning to Calgary. Outside of the clinic, Ciara enjoys spending time with her husband, reading, and is passionate about horseback riding.
