Practicum Student

My Story

Hi, I’m Emma! I am a practicum student currently completing my Masters of Counselling Psychology with City University. I believe healing starts with understanding—not judgment. Our brains are constantly trying to protect us, our bodies carry stories we don't always have words
for, and our emotions are often messengers rather than problems to get rid of. Sometimes those ways continue to help us and sometimes they quietly get in the way of the life we want to live. Together, we'll make sense of it all. I’m more curious about asking what’s happened to you?

My goal is to create a space where you feel understood, heard, seen, challenged when it's helpful, and comfortable enough to be fully yourself. Because lasting change doesn't come from trying harder—it comes from understanding yourself more deeply. I especially enjoy working with children, adolescents, and young and older adults who are navigating the beautifully messy seasons of life—whether that's anxiety, perfectionism,
burnout, bullying, school stress, trauma, relationships, identity, ADHD, or simply feeling like everyone else received a handbook you somehow missed.

My approach blends neuroscience, emotion-focused work, and practical strategies that help you understand not just what happened but understanding how and why it is impacting you. Because when you understand how your brain, nervous system, emotions, attachments and
relationships work together, change becomes a little less overwhelming—and a lot more possible.

My goal is for every client to leave feeling more connected—to themselves, to the people they love, and to the life they're trying to build
