Alexa Ceh
Provisional Psychologist
My Story
Alexa is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists who provides psychological assessment and therapy for young adults and adults. She has a particular interest in helping people understand patterns that may have affected them for years, whether those patterns involve attention and executive functioning, anxiety, trauma, relationships, or the experience of being overwhelmed by demands that seem easier for others to manage.
Alexa brings together a strong assessment background with a warm, collaborative therapeutic style. She sees assessment as more than identifying a diagnosis: it can provide a clearer explanation for why certain things have been difficult, identify strengths that may have been overlooked, and offer practical direction for moving forward. She completes assessments for ADHD, autism, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety, depression, and trauma, as well as psychoeducational, cognitive, vocational, and Disability Tax Credit assessments. She takes a neurodiversity-affirming approach and has formal training in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2). She also completed extensive doctoral-level coursework and supervised training in clinical psychology at Adler University, with a strong emphasis on psychodiagnostic assessment.
In therapy, Alexa works primarily from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, drawing from other evidence-based approaches when they are a better fit for the person and the problem. She works with concerns including anxiety, panic, low mood, trauma, ADHD, stress and burnout, grief and loss, self-doubt, relationships, and periods of significant change. Her experience in vocational rehabilitation also informs her work with people whose mental health, illness, or injury has affected their confidence, identity, or ability to participate in work and daily life.
Alexa holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with honours and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Calgary. She is committed to making therapy and assessment thoughtful, collaborative, and understandable, so that clients leave not only with greater insight, but with a clearer sense of what they can do with it.
